VaultKind is derived from Cryptomator under GPLv3 and uses a compatible vault format. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of Skymatic GmbH or the Cryptomator project. Cryptomator remains the established official cross-platform application.

Is VaultKind available to install today?

Not yet. VaultKind 1.0 is currently in release-candidate validation. The source code is public, and reviewers can request early access through the contact form.

Does VaultKind create its own vault format?

No. VaultKind works with Cryptomator-compatible vaults so users can keep the encrypted format they already trust.

Does VaultKind upload vaults for diagnostics?

No. Vault Doctor performs read-only checks on your computer. Using VaultKind does not require a VaultKind cloud service.

Who is VaultKind for?

If you've ever wanted encrypted storage to feel like a normal Windows application instead of a technical project, VaultKind is for you.

How should a reviewer request more information?

Use the private contact form. Please don't include your vault password, recovery key, private documents, or other sensitive personal information.
